We may have heard the scriptural imperative before, but we need to hear it again: “What does the Lord require of you? Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). We often start with justice, but today lets begin with the last phrase: “walk humbly with your God.” Too often we come to God with justification, not humility. With stubbornness, not teachability. I speak from personal experience – been there; sometimes I am there. What does it mean for us, as those who seek to follow Jesus, to “walk humbly with your God”? Be open to reflection. Be open to correction. Be open to confession. Be open to repentance (turning around). Be open to learn. Be open to change.
And then, be the bridge. Here’s how. Join with Rev. Wray and Rev. Wishmyer in reading and discussing the short study, "Be the Bridge 101: Foundational Principles Every White Bridge-Builder Needs." It’s $10 and you can download the PDF at www.bethebridge.com . We’ll have a Zoom call this coming Wednesday, from 7 PM to 8 PM. All we ask is you 1) Email Rev. Wishmyer or Rev. Wray to let us know so we can include you in on the call, 2) download the booklet, 3) read through Step 1, and 4) come prepared to listen, and to share.
