We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas.
This year, we’ll have both in-person and online worship available on Christmas Eve, December 24th.
12 noon in our Sanctuary - Join us in our historic and beautifully decorated sanctuary for in-person worship. As you would expect, physical distancing and face masks will be required at all times. Our capacity is limited - please pre-register here to ensure your spot!
4:30 pm *WORSHIP MOVED INDOORS* – * CHANGE * Due to the continued forecast for rain, possibly heavy, we are moving to the sanctuary for this Christmas Eve Worship service to welcome the Christ-child. Read more about where to park and what to expect on the event registration page, here.
Family-Friendly Christmas Worship – This worship service will be available all day on Christmas Eve from our livestream page, so you can worship at whatever time feels right for your family. Want the experience of worshipping with others? Then watch at 10 am on our Facebook page, when we’ll be premiering the video for this worship.
Lessons and Carols Christmas Worship – This worship service will be available all day on Christmas Eve from our livestream page, so you can worship at whatever time feels right for your family. Want the experience of worshipping with others? Then watch at 7 pm on our Facebook page, when we’ll be premiering the video for this worship.
What would Christmas be without Giving? We’ve set up a special place to easily support BOTH our annual Christmas Missions Offering AND our Ministries & Missions fund that supports our general operations.
Christmas Missions Offering: This year, as always, 100% of donations to the special Christmas Offering will be passed on to the organizations we have selected to support: Backpack Buddies and United Methodist Family Services (UMFS). Backpack Buddies provides weekly bags of food for food-insecure students at Catoctin Elementary School. UMFS (a ministry of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church) is a social service organization that does whatever it takes to empower high-risk children, their families and communities throughout Virginia, from addressing behavioral and emotional issues to finding foster homes.
Ministries and Missions Fund: If you’re not already a regular supporter of LUMC, please also consider supporting our general, on-going operations by giving to our Ministries and Missions fund. Without support for our operations, we can’t lead you in worship, discipleship, fellowship, missions to others, and all the many things that go into being “the Church.”
