The Greatest of These

Passage: 1 Corinthians 13:7-8
Much of our news these days is alarming. Division, disease, dissent, and disrespect seem to rule the day. In his timely book, Love is the Way, the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Bishop Michael J. Curry, shares a vision of life for Christians and non-Christians that embraces the ethic of Jesus: “love your neighbor… love your enemy”. In November, Pastor Jim and Rev. Wray will be sharing some of the insights of Curry’s book, along with our and others’ thoughts on 1 Corinthians 13 – Paul’s “more excellent way”, the way of love.
“Love is the way” is a back-to-basics reminder of what it means for you and me to live out our faith in troubled times, instead of allowing the world to “squeeze you into its own mold” (Romans 12:2, JB Phillips NT). Instead of being conformed to our culture, Christ calls you and me to join his work to transform the world! And, love is the way.
